How long before I can actually haul freight?
We get your paperwork submitted within 5 business days. Then FMCSA sits on it for 21 days — that's their mandatory protest period and nobody can speed it up. So figure 4–5 weeks total from the day you sign up to the day you're legally clear to run loads. Most of that wait is on the government, not us.
What exactly am I paying $999 for?
MC Authority filing, USDOT number, BOC-3 process agents in all 50 states, UCR registration, a dedicated filing specialist you can actually call, and lifetime access to our AI compliance assistant. That's the whole list. There's no second invoice, no "government fee" tacked on at the end, no $49 rush-processing upsell. One price.
Do I need to buy insurance before I sign up?
Nope. You file first, then lock in insurance during the 21-day FMCSA waiting period. Your insurance agent will file the BMC-91 (liability) and BMC-34 (cargo) directly with FMCSA. If you're not sure what coverage you need, ask the AI assistant — it'll break down the minimums for your specific operation so you don't overpay.
I already have a DOT number. Can you still help?
Yeah — we'll just add MC Authority to your existing USDOT record. Mention it on the intake form and we skip the duplicate filing. Same price, same timeline.
Do I need MC authority if I'm only running loads in my state?
If you never cross state lines and don't haul federally regulated commodities, you might be fine with just a state permit. But the second you take an interstate load, you need federal authority. Not sure where you fall? Ask the AI assistant — it's free to use even before you buy anything.
What if I change my mind?
Full refund within 30 days as long as the filings haven't been submitted yet. Once they're in, the government filing fee is non-refundable (FMCSA keeps it regardless of outcome), but Trucker Launch will refund the service fee if you're not satisfied with how we handled it.
What about IFTA, IRP, and state permits?
Those are state-level filings you handle after your federal authority is active. We don't file those for you yet — but the AI assistant walks you through every step, state by state. Full-service add-ons for IFTA and IRP are on the roadmap.
